Blue Box Season 2 begins in Japan with new opening and ending videos

The new creditless clips pair aiko’s opening with Elsewhere Kikou’s ending, while Japan’s Sunday television and rolling streaming schedules remain separate.

Blue Box Season 2 began its Japanese television run on Sunday, October 4, alongside the release of its official creditless opening and ending videos. The opening features aiko’s “Anata no Hana no Iro,” while the ending uses Elsewhere Kikou’s “blue in.” For viewers catching up with the return, the short theme sequences and the full weekly episode are separate viewing choices.

What was released with the premiere

The official website’s Movie section lists separate Season 2 opening and ending uploads. Anime Corner and Japanese news site Ota-suke both reported the new sequences after the Sunday premiere. The creditless label describes versions without the production-credit overlays, giving the music and accompanying anime sequence their own presentation.

To continue the story, viewers need the full episode from a broadcaster or streaming catalog. A theme video serves a different purpose: it presents the opening or ending sequence on its own. Checking the upload’s season and opening-or-ending label helps distinguish these new clips from a trailer, an older-season video or an episode listing.

The music choices were announced in August

The production named both artists and songs on August 26, when it also unveiled a main promotional video. Its original announcement identifies aiko’s “Anata no Hana no Iro” as the opening and “blue in” by Elsewhere Kikou as the ending. That earlier notice includes comments from the performers about the music.

The October 4 news therefore adds the actual start of the Japanese TV run and the released anime theme sequences to an already announced music lineup. Search results can bring the August announcement and the latest uploads together. The date, Season 2 label and opening-or-ending designation are the useful details for choosing the intended video.

Japan has two distinct Sunday scheduling points

The television schedule is Sunday at 4:30 p.m. JST across the TBS network’s 28 stations, beginning October 4. That slot appears in the production’s dated August announcement and is corroborated by TBS’s current program listing. It describes the Japanese television broadcast.

A separate official distribution notice says episodes begin reaching listed streaming platforms sequentially from 5 p.m. on Sundays. It warns that streaming times may change with the broadcast schedule; the linked service list also notes that start dates may vary by service. The two scheduled starting points are 30 minutes apart, but the notice does not promise that every service publishes an episode at precisely the same moment.

Use the Season 2 listing to find the episode

For streaming, start with the official Season 2 distribution information and then open the show’s page in the service available to you. Check the season, episode number and local release information before relying on a general search result. An older Season 1 catalog entry or an official theme upload does not by itself establish that the new episode is available.

The Japanese TV and distribution notices also do not establish one worldwide release time. Viewers outside Japan should use their local service’s listing for availability and language options. That keeps the choice practical: select the official opening or ending upload for the new theme sequence, or the correct Season 2 episode page to watch the story continue.
