Tenstorrent raises $1.5 billion at a $6.2 billion valuation to scale AI servers
The Series E was led by Trace Capital and Innovation X. The $6.2 billion figure is post-money, and the company says the capital will expand Galaxy-server production, commercial reach and licensable AI and CPU IP.

Tenstorrent said on October 19 that it closed a $1.5 billion Series E at a $6.2 billion post-money valuation, more than doubling the valuation associated with its December 2024 financing. Reuters and Axios independently reported the same round size and valuation.
The company says the proceeds will support volume manufacturing and global expansion, including scaling Galaxy servers for AI inference and advancing the AI and CPU designs it licenses to customers building their own silicon.
The round is closed, and the valuation is post-money
Tenstorrent said it closed $1.5 billion in Series E financing at a $6.2 billion post-money valuation. Reuters and Axios independently reported the same headline figures. “Post-money” means the valuation includes the new capital, so it should not be described as the company’s value before the financing.
The new capital is tied to server scale and commercial reach
The company says the money will support volume manufacturing, global commercial expansion and deployment of Galaxy servers at scale. Reuters says those systems combine dozens of AI chips for workloads including chatbots, coding assistants and video generation. The announcement also names further work on AI and CPU intellectual property licensed to customers that design their own silicon.
The investor group is broad, but two firms led the round
Trace Capital and Innovation X led the Series E. The company and both independent reports list a broader group that includes ARK Invest, Fidelity Management & Research, Morgan Stanley, Sandisk, T. Rowe Price and Tether Investments, among others. Participation does not by itself disclose each investor’s check size or ownership percentage.
Why the December 2024 comparison matters
Reuters reports that Tenstorrent’s prior round raised more than $693 million in December 2024 at a $2 billion pre-money valuation. The new $6.2 billion figure is post-money, so the two valuation labels are not perfectly like-for-like. They still show a much larger financing and valuation base than the previous round.
What the announcement does not establish
The funding validates investor demand for Tenstorrent’s strategy, but it does not disclose revenue, profitability, unit shipments, manufacturing yield, server delivery dates or a complete customer list. Readers should separate capital raised from hardware shipped and valuation from operating results. This article reports a financing event and is not investment advice.
