Supermicro lifts preliminary Q1 revenue range to $18.5–$19.5 billion
The AI-server maker’s preliminary fiscal first-quarter revenue range is well above its prior $14.5–$15.5 billion target. The update does not yet provide final profit or margin figures.

Super Micro Computer expects preliminary fiscal first-quarter revenue of $18.5 billion to $19.5 billion, above both its prior company target and the analyst estimate reported by Reuters. The release points to AI-platform demand, but it is a revenue update rather than a full earnings report.
A large step above the prior target
The new low end of $18.5 billion is $3 billion above the old high end of $15.5 billion. Reuters said AI-platform demand drove the expected increase. The comparison is between a preliminary range and prior guidance, so it should not be presented as finalized reported revenue.
The analyst comparison is also sizable
Reuters cited an LSEG analyst average of $15.23 billion. Even the bottom of the new range is $3.27 billion above that figure. Investor’s Business Daily separately reported the same new range and the prior company target, providing an independent check on the core update.
The market reaction was immediate but provisional
Investor’s Business Daily reported that Supermicro shares rose more than 10% in after-hours trading. Extended-hours moves can reverse and are included only as the initial response to the update, not as investment advice or a forecast.
What remains unknown
The short update did not provide final earnings per share, gross margin, cash flow or audited quarterly revenue. Those figures can materially change how the quarter is understood. Readers should treat the range as an early operational signal and wait for the complete results before drawing a full profitability conclusion.
Why this is a distinct new event
Watch at Ease previously covered older Supermicro outlooks and order updates. This article is limited to the October 20 preliminary first-quarter revenue revision, a new development that supersedes the earlier $14.5 billion to $15.5 billion quarterly target.
