Predators beat Avalanche 6–2 as four power-play goals drive the win
Ryan O’Reilly had two goals and two assists, while Steven Stamkos scored twice. Nashville’s 4-for-7 power play and a reviewed first-period goal shaped the result.

Nashville defeated Colorado 6–2 at Bridgestone Arena on October 25, converting four of seven power plays. Ryan O’Reilly scored twice and assisted twice, and Steven Stamkos added two goals and an assist.
The Predators built a 5–0 lead before Colorado scored. The Avalanche later reduced the gap to 5–2, but Stamkos converted a two-man advantage to restore a four-goal margin.
Seven opportunities, four conversions
Forsberg opened the scoring at 4:01 of the first period. Stamkos blocked a clearing attempt, allowing Josi to set up the power-play shot from the high slot.
O’Reilly added power-play goals at 6:38 and 17:29 of the second. Stamkos’s second goal, at 10:24 of the third on a 5-on-3, completed the four conversions. These were four goals within the six-goal total, not four additional goals.
Video review established the second goal
Stamkos’s shot at 10:48 of the first period was initially ruled no goal. Cale Makar tried to clear the bouncing puck near the goal line, but the review determined it had fully crossed.
The awarded goal made it 2–0. AP and the league recap agree on the decision; the apparent clearance did not cancel a goal already established by the review.
Two late second-period goals opened the gap
Jack Drury scored at 16:36 of the second after Ross Colton found him near the net. O’Reilly scored 53 seconds later, extending Nashville’s lead from 3–0 to 5–0.
Artturi Lehkonen answered at 17:55. Devon Toews then scored at 2:43 of the third during 4-on-4 play, bringing Colorado within three before Nashville’s final power-play goal.
The production went beyond two goal scorers
O’Reilly’s four points consisted of two goals and two assists. Stamkos and Forsberg each had three points; Josi contributed three assists.
These individual totals overlap because several players can receive credit on the same goal. They show how Nashville’s leading players connected, rather than a separate tally to add to the team’s six goals.
Goaltending and the next fixtures
AP reports that Annunen’s 19-save performance was his first victory of the season. Wedgewood stopped 29 for Colorado. Nashville ended a two-game losing run; Colorado lost for the third time in four games.
Nashville is scheduled to host the New York Islanders on Tuesday, October 27. Colorado is scheduled to host New Jersey on Wednesday, October 28. The 4-for-7 power play is the completed game’s result, not a projection for those fixtures.
