Tyrese Haliburton scored 20 of his 24 points after halftime as the Indiana Pacers beat the Brooklyn Nets 136–109 in New York on October 25. The win moved Indiana to 2–1 and left Brooklyn 0–3.

The decisive separation came across the middle quarters. Indiana won the second 41–30 and the third 37–24, transforming a 26–24 deficit into a 98–74 advantage before the final period.

The game turned before halftime

Brooklyn led 51–49 with 2:45 left in the second quarter. Obi Toppin hit two 3-pointers and Andrew Nembhard added another as Indiana closed the half on a 16–5 run for a 65–56 lead. That run changed the game from a close exchange into a controlled Pacers tempo.

The third quarter created the final margin

Indiana opened the second half with pace and spacing, made 14 of 23 shots in the third and won the period 37–24. The 98–74 score after three quarters left Brooklyn needing a 24-point comeback rather than one late possession.

Haliburton’s damage came after the break

Reuters reported that 20 of Haliburton’s 24 points came in the second half. He shot 8-for-13 overall, made four of seven 3-pointers and added 10 assists. The line shows scoring and creation together, not just a single highlight dunk.

Indiana’s shot profile was difficult to match

The Pacers shot 49-for-85 from the field and 21-for-43 from 3-point range. Pascal Siakam supplied 21 points, seven rebounds and six assists, while Obi Toppin scored 16 off the bench. Brooklyn shot 40.7%, according to Reuters.

What the result means next

Indiana rebounded from a 121–105 loss to Dallas and visits Milwaukee next. Brooklyn has lost its first three and visits Boston. One early-season result does not establish a full trend, but the middle-quarter scoring and efficient shooting explain this 27-point margin.
