Jio Platforms’ public share sale opens Wednesday, October 21, in what is set to be India’s largest initial public offering. The official issue period closes Friday, October 23, after a separate anchor-investor allocation on October 19.

The company is offering up to 270 million new shares at 1,065 to 1,119 rupees each. The structure could raise about 302 billion rupees at the top of the range, but this report explains the published terms rather than recommending whether anyone should participate.

The public issue runs from October 21 through October 23

The official abridged prospectus sets Wednesday, October 21 as the opening date and Friday, October 23 as the closing date. Anchor bidding occurred on Monday, October 19, so the public window is a separate stage of the same offering.

The price band and share count define the maximum raise

Jio is offering up to 270 million new shares at 1,065 to 1,119 rupees each. At the top of the range, the offering can raise about 302 billion rupees, or roughly $3.2 billion at the exchange rate used by Reuters.

Most of the proceeds are earmarked for telecom-unit debt

Reuters reported that Jio plans to use as much as 275 billion rupees of the proceeds to repay or prepay borrowings at Reliance Jio Infocomm. Remaining proceeds are intended for general corporate purposes, including capital expenditure.

Retail demand follows a heavily subscribed anchor allocation

The Guardian reported that 212 anchor investors received allocations before the public opening, including large global asset managers and sovereign investors. Anchor participation shows institutional demand, but it does not determine the final public allocation or the post-listing price.

The valuation headline comes with operating and regulatory context

At the top of the band, Jio would be valued at about 10.3 trillion rupees and rank among India’s largest listed companies. Reuters also noted 533 million subscribers and the prospectus warning that evolving data-protection and telecom rules could constrain data-driven monetisation.
