Golden Resale portable camping-shower recall: identify the ZAREI kit and use the right refund contact
Golden Resale is recalling about 400 portable camping-shower kits sold on Amazon and Walmart because the 1,500-watt immersion heater can ignite when it is partly or completely out of water. The federal notice lists two different phone numbers.

Golden Resale is recalling about 400 ZAREI portable camping-shower kits sold online by Amazon and Walmart because the 1,500-watt immersion heater can ignite rapidly when it is partly or completely out of water. No incidents or injuries had been reported when the notice was published.
Stop using the entire kit and do not plug in the heater for a test. Match the bucket, pump, hose, shower head and heart-vented heater, then start the full-refund process through the marketplace used for the purchase.
How to identify the recalled kit
The recall covers a complete portable shower system: a black rechargeable pump, black shower head with gold trim, black hose, black five-gallon collapsible bucket and metal 1,500-watt immersion heater. “ZAREI” appears on the bucket and in white below the pump display.
The heater has heart-shaped openings in its metal housing and a black plastic endcap. Photograph the complete kit and these identifiers before packing anything. An order from February through August 2026 is useful evidence, but the physical components and markings are the product-level check.
Why the heater is being recalled
The CPSC says the immersion heater can ignite quickly when it is partially or completely out of water, creating a fire hazard with a risk of serious injury or death. The notice reported no incidents or injuries.
A matching heater does not need to look damaged before the hazard can occur. Do not energize it to see whether it becomes hot, and do not assume that the absence of reported incidents means a matching kit is safe.
What to do before contacting Golden Resale
Unplug the heater and pump, let recently used parts cool and dry without reconnecting them, and keep the heater away from tents, vehicles, fuel, fabric, paper and other flammable material. Save photos of the ZAREI markings, heart-shaped openings, black endcap and complete kit.
Keep the Amazon or Walmart order number, purchase date and original payment method. Do not resell, donate, discard or ship the kit until Golden Resale or the retailer provides return instructions; the public remedy describes a prepaid return.
How the refund works
Contact Golden Resale and identify the marketplace where the kit was purchased. The refund process starts through Amazon or Walmart. Customers who continue with the return process are to receive a free prepaid package for the recalled kit.
After the return is processed, the refund should go to the original form of payment. Keep the carrier receipt, tracking number and marketplace confirmation until the refund is complete, and do not pay an unsolicited caller for a recall label.
The notice lists two different phone numbers
The CPSC page is internally inconsistent: its Consumer Contact section lists 855-927-3440, while the remedy paragraph lists 855-927-2440. RecallTimes notes the same discrepancy. The published pages do not establish which number contains the error.
A cautious route is to begin with the Consumer Contact number, 855-927-3440, during the listed hours. If it does not connect or cannot be verified, use golden.resale0624@gmail.com and the Amazon or Walmart order system. Include recall number 27-013 and the order number, but not unrelated financial information.
What is known and what is not
The public notices establish the ZAREI identifiers, 1,500-watt heater, heart-shaped openings, sales window, approximate unit count, fire hazard and prepaid-return refund process. They report no incidents or injuries as of the announcement.
They do not publish a separate model or serial-number range, explain the two phone numbers or say that the pump alone is defective. If a component is missing or the markings are unclear, keep the kit unplugged and seek case-specific guidance instead of testing it.
