The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Francisco Giants 2-0 on Friday night at Oracle Park, and every run came in the second inning. Teoscar Hernández and Andy Pages each hit a solo home run, while Tarik Skubal made the narrow margin hold with seven scoreless innings, three hits allowed, 10 strikeouts and no walks.

The shape of the win matters more than the raw score. Los Angeles did not build a long rally; it got two isolated swings and then leaned on pitching. Skubal needed only 75 pitches, Roki Sasaki handled a perfect eighth and Tanner Scott closed the ninth for his 24th save.

Two solo homers supplied the entire margin

Hernández opened the scoring with a solo homer in the second inning, and Pages added another solo shot later in the frame. The Dodgers finished with seven hits, but those two swings were the only ones that crossed the plate.

That distinction keeps the result in proportion: this was not a high-volume offensive night. Los Angeles created a two-run cushion early and then played the rest of the game without adding to it.

Skubal turned a two-run lead into enough

Skubal held San Francisco to three hits across seven scoreless innings, struck out 10 and did not issue a walk. True Blue LA recorded the outing at 75 pitches, 60 for strikes, an efficiency that let the Dodgers move directly to their late-inning relief plan.

Sasaki struck out two in a perfect eighth, then Scott finished the shutout in the ninth. The bullpen did not have to protect a changing score; it inherited the same 2-0 lead Skubal carried out of the seventh.

A 1:53 rivalry game, with one more to watch next

The game took 1 hour, 53 minutes. MLB and AP reported that it was the fastest Giants-Dodgers game since a 1:50 contest on August 30, 1958, and AP also noted that Los Angeles had won six straight against San Francisco and secured the season series.

The teams meet again Saturday at Oracle Park. AP listed Blake Snell for the Dodgers against Matt Wilkinson for the Giants. The next question is whether San Francisco can create more traffic after being held to three hits, not whether Friday's two solo homers guarantee another low-scoring game.
