Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2027 show mixes sheer suits and tiger-print tweed
Matthieu Blazy’s October 5 collection traced Gabrielle Chanel’s changing style, with movement and lightness at its center.

Chanel staged its Spring/Summer 2027 show at the Grand Palais in Paris on October 5, 2026. Matthieu Blazy revisited the label’s tweed and skirt suits beneath oversized seagull sculptures, linking a familiar wardrobe with the collection’s theme of taking flight.
From sheer skirts to stretch tweed
Reuters reported cream and black skirt suits embroidered with flowers and beads, alongside red-and-white tiger-print tweed. Other looks paired pleated miniskirts with cropped jackets; some hems ended in metallic beads.
Chanel’s show notes described a new smocked tweed intended to stretch and move with the wearer. The house linked that fabric to the collection’s opening underwear looks, presenting both as ways to dress lightly.
The story behind the birds
Blazy built the collection around different chapters of Gabrielle Chanel’s life. The notes move from the corsetry and tailoring she encountered to the jersey and suiting she made part of her own vocabulary.
Birds appeared in buttons, jewelry and embroidery, while Chanel’s notes identified swifts and swallows with freedom. Vogue linked the set’s giant seagull sculptures to lightness and taking flight.

One bag connects the opening and finale
According to the notes, Gabrielle Chanel’s own 2.55 bag appeared at the beginning and end, carried by the same model. New bags included a birdcage-shaped minaudière.
