Bezzecchi wins Indonesian GP as Aprilia takes top four; Martin leads by two points
The manufacturer’s sweep spans Aprilia Racing and Trackhouse. Martin’s third place produces a six-point Sunday swing over sixth-placed Marquez.

Marco Bezzecchi won the Indonesian MotoGP at Mandalika on October 11 ahead of Raul Fernandez, Jorge Martin and Ai Ogura. All four rode Aprilia motorcycles, but represented two teams. Martin reclaimed the riders’ championship lead on 355 points, two ahead of Marc Marquez, who finished sixth.
The lap-19 move that decided the winner
Fernandez led early after Bezzecchi ran wide at the first corner. The pair pulled away, then Bezzecchi passed on lap 19 of 27 and opened a lead he retained to the finish. Motorsport.com and Crash.net independently identify that decisive lap.
The published classification puts Bezzecchi’s race time at 40:46.582, Fernandez 4.260 seconds behind and Martin 6.890 seconds behind the winner. Those are gaps to Bezzecchi; Martin’s gap to Fernandez was 2.630 seconds, not 6.890.
One manufacturer, two teams
Bezzecchi and Martin rode for the factory Aprilia Racing team. Fernandez and Ogura represented Trackhouse. Aprilia’s first MotoGP 1-2-3-4 therefore describes motorcycles from one manufacturer, not four riders entered by the factory team.
Ogura’s fourth place completed that sweep after his late battle with Pedro Acosta, who finished fifth. The distinction matters when reading a podium photograph or manufacturer headline: the first three were all on Aprilias, while the top four included both factory and Trackhouse riders.
Why third place was enough to regain the lead
Martin took 16 Sunday race points and Marquez 10, a six-point advantage in this race. Reuters reports the resulting championship totals as 355 and 353. Race points gained relative to a rival and the remaining season-long lead are different quantities: Martin’s post-race lead was two points.
Marquez had won Saturday’s separate Sprint, then finished sixth in the Grand Prix. His Sprint result should not replace Sunday’s classification. Martin has retaken the standings lead, not secured the championship; further rounds remain, and the next scheduled stop is Australia.
